First Post for Basically Bare!

I’m so excited to share more eye candy from my first post as part of Basically Bare’s Book Bunch! I am so honored to be part of this fabulous design team!! The group is just so much fun… I just can’t get enough of their creativity and fun! It’s been a blast so far… and, it’s just the beginning!!

Here we go…..

This is a fun, bright and spunky Polly’s Pockets Basically Bare Booklet ! As you know, most of my albums are typically all about friends, family and vacations, but this album is ALL ABOUT ME. To keep with that theme, I dipped into my all-time favorite papers and embellishments. You’ll see plenty of American Crafts Amy Tang, Bella Blvd, Paper Loft and, of course — Basically Bare. One of my crafty friends encouraged me to sign up for journaling ”30 days of Lists.”  The idea is to create a journal that includes 30 lists on all on kinds of different, fun topics.  Oh, and something you should know – I pretty much live by my lists so this was the perfect project for me!I hope you enjoy the photos, tips AND a glimpse into my life!

The front cover includes Basically Bare’s embellies – Hearts Variety #2 – I included both canvas and felt hearts. On the felt heart, I used Zig Fabricolor markers. On the canvas heart, I used my new favorite Zig Painty Pens! Imagine a bucket of paint that comes out neatly in a marker! Ohhhhh – I’m SO in LOVE!

The pages above include a ton of fun, bright colors. Check out the Basically Bare embellies – Celestial Shapes – labeled 1, 2 & 3. These stars are acrylic and work perfectly with the Zig Painty Pens. I definitely recommend layering the acrylic on top of the chipboard stars. It creates a really cool effect!

Have you noticed the fun pockets on these albums? Each page on the right side includes a pocket – just like an old-school library book! I love, love, love it! It was perfect for this project because I was working to cram 30 separate lists in the booklet! I was able to make it all fit because of the fun library card inserts! The insert includes Paper Loft’s Huckleberry Pond Distressed Cardstock.

Eeeekkkk  – I absolutely LOVE these pages with the frames. The Amy Tang paper matched perfectly with the Rebecca Price Basically Bare embellies – Fanciful Frames Set. I covered the frame with patterned paper and then added a yellow border with the Zig Painty Pens. I also embellished the frame with Basically Bare’s embellies – blossoms & leaves. Using the green Zig Painty Pen, I created an outline on the acrylic leaf and added a chipboard flower with a button in the middle! The insert also includes Paper Loft’s distressed cardstock.

These cheerful pages include a Basically Bare embellie Little House Set. I actually turned the house on its side and created an arrow. I covered the “house” with a Zig Blue Painty Pen and added a few white polka dots with the Painty Pen.

The last two pages include a few felt clouds. As much as I enjoy covering and embellishing the Basically Bare embellies, I actually liked the Celestial Shapes (felt clouds) as-is. I just used my white painty pen to draw a few lines and polka dots to make them a bit more fun!
