Friends of Embellish: Angel Watch
Last fall I had the pleasure of meeting Tammie McQuain – owner of Angel Watch, a baby sitting company. Tammie is an amazing woman that personally interviews and hires each of the baby sitters on her team. For all you moms looking for a night out, check out Angel Watch. They also provide baby sitting for company parties, weddings and conferences.

I’m super excited to share with you that I will be offering scrapbook classes at Michaels in La Mesa. The January class has been cancelled, but we are ready to go for February! We begin on February 6 and will meet for 4 weeks. You will receive 8 hours of instruction for just $27! Can’t beat that! No matter what level of scrapbooker – just beginning or advanced – join us to improve your skills… and, meet fabulous women!
On a personal note, I’m really excited to have the opportunity to teach. I love helping others with their projects and find it very rewarding. I’m looking to offer private scrapbooking parties, classes and “moms night out” in 2011. Please email me if you’d be interested!

Bubbly Gifts
Ok, I’ll admit it. I didn’t finish all my holiday projects in time for Christmas. After a relaxing holiday vacation, I got back into the creative mode and designed these cutesy bubby gifts – just in time to pass them out for New Years. The project was very simple and added that “personal touch” I was hoping for.
Want to create your own? Here are the 10 simple steps:
- Purchase the tiny bottles of bubbly – just a few bucks at World Market.
- Cut a small rectangular piece of scrap paper. Ink up the edges. (This is your label.)
- Write a cute message. I used the title “Cheers”
- Embellish. I had a cute stamp of martini glasses that I used. You could easily add paper flowers!
- Use glue dots to secure the new label.
- Use a punch to create the three small circles. (I used the Martha Starburst punch.)
- Write “Happy” “New” “Year” on each punch.
- Use glue dots to secure your three circles to a designer ribbon.
- Use some fun ribbon or tinsel to dress up the bubbly!
- Enjoy!

2010: a year in photos
Over the last year, I’ve pretty much used the blog as a place to publish examples of page designs and Embellish promotions. I’m hoping to have a little more fun with it this year by including a glimpse into my day-to-day life, as well. To bring you up to speed on what wasn’t on the blog in 2010, here’s a photo to represent each month. I’ve “borrowed” this idea from my sista-site, L & Co. Thanks for the inspiration, sis!
January: In January 2010 I made a decision to start Embellish Creative Designs. I had the idea / concept thought out, but needed the inspiration, motivation and support to get it started. I participated in a Ladies Who Launch - San Diego Intensive Incubator. I met some fantastic women, created a vision for Embellish and jumped right in. Here’s a photo of the fabulous women that shared the experience with me.
February: In February 2010 I spent a good amount of time designing. I built up a nice portfolio of examples for upcoming events. Here’s a cute brag book of my cousin, Kaylee.
March: In March 2010 I officially launched Embellish Creative Designs to the public at the Business Women’s Mega Mixer. Here’s a shot of me in front of my booth. My mom and I spent some time working on the banner – I love it!
April: I don’t think we’re too old to dye Easter eggs, right?!?!
May: Our good friends John & Saritha got married in May. It was a gorgeous Indian wedding and both Jeremy and I had the pleasure of being in the wedding party. Here’s one of my favorite shots from the day. Felici Photography did a fantastic job!! Can’t wait to scrapbook these photos!
June: My hubby, Jeremy, spent the first 6 months of 2010 participating in the Leadership & Management Program (LAMP) at UCSD. He graduated the management program in May with an A+! So proud of his hard work!
July: In July, I opened the Embellish Shop on Etsy!
August: My sister is getting married July 2011! My mom, her girls and I spent some time wedding dress shopping with her… it was a blast – she will be such a gorgeous bride!! (The photo I REALLY want to post will ruin the surprise for her fiance, so I’ll have to hold off on Lauren in the dress!)
September: In September, we announced the winners of the What a Trip Photo Contest!
October: We had another very special wedding in October. Our friends Cherish and Justin got married on board the Carnival Paradise cruise ship. We had a blast celebrating their wedding and crusing to Mexico. Here’s the “life jackets” I made for the bride and groom!
November: In November we began publicizing our 6×6 mini pre-made albums. These albums were a major holiday hit! I’m so thankful for the holiday orders I received!
December: Although December was super hectic and busy, we managed to decorate the house and the tree and celebrate the holidays with friends and family. My grandma made a very special stocking for Jeremy. It’s a handmade pattern that includes felt, beads and thread. I’ve had mine since I was a baby and now Jeremy has one to match!
All in all, 2010 was a great year. I can’t wait to see what 2011 will bring!!
